Converting a C&B revolver requires a lot of machine work but there are kits available to do this. Check Brownells for such kits.  There are other suppliers I'm sure but they have escaped my efforts to remember. In a simple for the process consists of converting the cylinder to a bore thru configuration and chambering to accept a cartrige of acceptable bore size and power level for the caliber and revolver being converted.  Then an ejector mechanism is added to unload the chambers and this also may require some alteration to the frame..

hey kraig, sorry for taking so long getting back to you,i have had the flu.to convert the peita,i stripped down the gun, removed the barrel.the first thing you have to do is install a recoil sheild plate, the reason is that the primer will back out when fired. I used my dremil drill press, any will do, i then used a cylinder shaped stone tip,it needs to be a little smaller than the ctg. rim dia. grind down about 1/16 or so.then you have to turn a round piece the samr dia. as the depression you ground in the frame, centered where the fireing pin protudes, drill a hole for the fireing pin, then you have to shape one end of it to fit in the slot that has been milled out so the perc. fireing pin would fit.you have to shape it so the new ctg. fireing pin will work, you will just have to file and fit. I soldered mine in with stay-brite silver bearing solder, low temp, high strengh.see if you can get a few inches from a plumber,it cost about $40 a pound. remove the perc. fireing pin and put in a ctg. fireing pin. its a simple change out.i used a peita because i was given one,if i was going to buy one,i would buy the uberti, you have to use uberti parts, you have to get a uberti barrel and cyl.the cyl fits, the barrel treads are diffrent, the new barrel will screw in but is loose,i used j.b.weld on the treads then pinned the barrel to the frame, the barrel will have to be set back,as it is too short to reach the cyl.the cyl. will be off timeing a little, but it dont seem to hurt accucery much.the ejector rod will need a shortened screw to hold it on.the reason i used ubreti parts is because i couldnt find peita parts.it works good so far the barrel is still tight.  ed smith
