is this a good deal?

a member of my club who i shot with every so often has offered me his used Ruger .22/45 MK3. he wants to get one of the new ones that are coming out with the 4 1/2" barrel. it's had about 2000 rounds through it, has only a small cosmetic scratch on the barrel, and comes with 2 mags, manual and original Ruger case. he wants $250 CDN. sounds pretty good to me. i'm going to test it tomorrow and he's willing to hold on to it until my root canal's paid off.

i tested it and it's worth $250. i made an error in my above post, it's a Mk 2, not a Mk 3. i also tried a friends XD-40. ugly but fun. so many guns, so little money!

That’s not a bad price I don’t think. Two-thousand rounds hasn’t even effected that gun. The barrel should be well seasoned by now and all of the kinks would have showed up as well. Congrats on your purchase. It’s always a good feeling to add a new toy to the chest.

Be Safe,
Scott

I have the 22/45 and LOVE it.  I can easily hit turtles in the head pretty consistantly out at around 50 yards.  It's a sweet gun, especially if you have bigger hands like I do.

I use the pachmyr slip on grip, and the gun now fits like a glove.
The problem with troubleshooting is....sometimes it shoots back!

$250 canadian...you didn't get hurt.  The gun is just broken in...hope you enjoy it.   I sure would like to have one at the ready hanging in my gun safe!   :)

Congrats!  ...Chris   :D
