What calibers would be suitable in a 16" barrel

Was just thinking today, what calibers would be suitable for deer hunting with a 16" barrel? Was thinking about a 16" barrel on my encore to use when hunting in a blind, shots out to maybe 150 yards>

Any opinions or persoanl observations???

I have a 16.5" 338-06 VVC Barrel. I just got it for Christmas. I just finshed doing load testing on it. I am using 225 gr. Nosler Accubond bullets, getting around 3/4" group, at 100 yards. And I as did load testing with 225 gr. Hornady SP, the group was around a 1/2" group at 100 yards. My barrel has a brake on it, and it kicks like a 44 Mag. I use it as a handgun, with a 3X9 Burris on it. All I can say about this round, is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Out to 150 yrds. anything from the .357 max. up. Kill my deer with that round this year, double lung shot and she went 70 yrds. Not the knock down of the .44 mag. that I used in the past, but still does the job. I have it set-up with a 25 in. Harris by-pod. It`s just right when your setting on the ground to rest the grip on your knee, like shooting from a bench. And you definately need a rest of some kind for that long a barrel.
