Marlin 39 century LTD
« on: June 10, 2011, 07:10:11 PM »
I saw a Marlin 39 Century Ltd the other day with a $499 price tag on it and a note that said with box. I looked at it through the case and it appeared to be in great condition. I didn't dare to ask to handle it and get a closer look. Didn't know much about them until I started snooping around online. Would that price be good or just average? I may have to go back...

I have one, that I have had since 1973. Around here it would sell for $600.00 - $700.00.

It is the same as any other Marlin 39 Mountie, except with the 20" octagonal barrel and the medalion.

If you want a good .22 rifle, $499.00 is less than a new Marlin 39 would cost.

It would be a nice gun to own, hunt and shoot with.

Stoutstuff,

I think that's about the going price. I have one I bought a few years ago that I paid $550 for iif memory serves me correctly. I shoot mine but some folks just collect these models.
Like was already said, these are cheeper than a new 39a.
I also have 2, 1950s model 39a that I shoot. Both of them have the older ballad riffling. Which I personally like better. But the century is a joy to carry and shoot.
