The Devil made me do it
« on: February 21, 2003, 02:44:11 AM »
Made me cut off the barrel of my new Army Colt. The gun felt muzzle heavy so I took off the loading lever and got out my Sawzall. I cut off 2 inches. It made a new gun out of it. It handles real nice now. I am going to practice with point and shoot for a while and see how that goes. I may come in and put a front sight on it, but I was going to have to do that anyway, because I was hitting 8 inches high and two to the left.
The gun looks very good this way. The only factory made gun that I could find that is close to this is a "Sheriff's model." This is a .44 with a 5 inch barrel, but it is chrome plated. I didn't like the looks of that chrome, and it cost $50 more than my Pietta. Plus I like the handling with the loading lever removed.
I am going to make a loading device, if that doesn't work out I will buy one.
Aim small don't miss.

One of our shooters uses the loading tool Cabela's sells for the 1873 C&B revolver, they were made by Uberti, now ny Pietta.  I bought one to load spare cylinders for Colt and Remington revolvers to save time between stages in a match.
