The strength of the action is not the only consideration of course. You will also have to see if the barrel fits properly, or if it needs some 'smithing' for it to fit snug. Same as switching any other rifle barrels back and forth on receivers. You might get lucky. I tried my 7.62x39 barrel on my 12 gauge receiver....but this was only with light loads, worked fine. A 12 gauge shot-gun is ceratinly NOT a Low Pressure firearm.....I have no doubt that many of the lower pressure centerfires would work..... For the sake of Liability though, I doubt that NEF would encourage this. I doubt if Graybeard or GBO would endorse it either, for the same reasons. Just make sure that whatever you do...Do it safely. Check and compare pressures of the cartridge. P.S.....the 410 receiver is identical and the same strength as a 20 or 12.
