Here's a 100 yard group shot with .38 Specials out of a Handi.

It was shot with 10.0 gr of SR 4756, 125 gr Golden Sabers in .38 Special brass and CCI 500.  I use a cheapo Bushnell Sportsman 3-9X 40mm on this gun.  It clocks at an average of 1714 fps MV.

Yup. Clean the chamber up good after with an oversized brush. The .38 Special rounds leave deposits of carbon, lead, copper, lube, whathaveyou at the end of the case. In the short run this build up can make a .357 case unable to chamber or lock it in the chamber after firing. In the long run, corrosion can occur under the deposit. Clean it regularly and the build up does not become a problem.

Accuracy varies by rifle. Some like .38 Specials and some don't. My rechambered .357 Max loves wadcutter loads and reliably puts them into 1"-1 1/4" at 50 yards

I like 3.5 gr Unique in a 357--nice and light, less than 900 fps and no worry bout erosion or chamber cleaning.

I like the .38/.357 so much that I ordered another barrel for the same rifle and with DJs help rechambered one to .357 max. The .38s are just plain fun to shoot and with mine,  inch to inch and a quarter is the norm. 3.3 grs of tight group and some 158gr cast bullets isn't much losder than a .22LR with a whole lot more smack down. 8)

With the Max and 20grs of IMR 4227 under a 180gr LBT style of cast bullet I took a very nice and tasty 150lb doe. :P
