44 cal. 215 SWCBB Cast Bullet.
« on: March 12, 2005, 09:33:35 PM »
I just picked up some of the bullets at a good price.
And was wondering if anyone has used this bullet. Just bought a FA Model 97 in 44 Special last month. It looks like a good plinking bullet and when loaded just a small shoulder and a stubby nose is all that is sticking out.
Looks to be 1.400" is ideal for the COL. in 44 Spl. The bullet actually seats deeper than a 250gr. Keith. Looked in catalogs wheather it's a Lyman or a RCBS or even a SAECO. I don't see that bullet anywhere.
But if anybody has used it, I would be greatly apprecitive of a Powder combo for it.
Thanks.

You can safely load to alittle over 6 grns. of Bullseye, but for just plinking I would suggest you try about 5 grns. of Bullseye powder and a Win. LP primer. I load 6 grn. of Bullseye behind a 240 grn. cast bullet for the .44 mag. and get abt 950 fps. from a RSB. You should get about that with 5 grns. and the lite bullet.
