What is the best way/procedure to remove a barrel?
« on: March 11, 2005, 04:41:24 PM »
What is the best way to remove/swap out a barrel?
What tools do I need?
Do I go from left to right or reverse?
Will changing out the barrels often in Handi-rifles alter the accuracy?

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Easy-Peazy Ridge Runner, no pins to drift out, no left to right, no right to left...

1) Remove the screw on the bottom of the forearm that holds it on. (need a screw driver)

2) Pull the forearm off.

3) push the barrel opening latch to the right of the hammer and open the action.

THE BARREL FALLS OFF IN YOUR HAND (takes about 30 seconds!!!)

4) reverse to reattach that or any other barrel. (takes about another 30 seconds!!!)

Good Luck...any questions, come back, were always here!!!....<><....

Ok, that was the technical version, here is the simple set of instructions...(still 4 steps)

1) remove forearm

2) remove barrel

3) replace barrel

4) replace forearm

YOUR DONE!!!

P.S.  - it won't affect accuracy at all since your sights are attached to the barrel...

If changing barrels effected the sights I would never be able to hit anything, I change mine alot and I also take'em down to clean them. plus I have a couple of those little soft cases that you have to take'em down to get them in the case, real HANDY and most people don't realize your carring a rifle.(with two or three barrels) 8)

I just did it!!!

I was given a 20 guage NEF shotgun by my father in law.

I never took it apart before.

I am hooked on these guns now.

Really simple.

I need more barrels...............

Got one from a closeout sale the other I ordered from NEF's web site, It's called a versa-pack Black nylon 25"x9" holds two unscoped barrels and the reciever in padded pockets. Most people don't have a clue that its holding a rifle. 8)
