Anyone heard anything on when the UV .204 Fluted will ship?
« on: March 09, 2005, 03:54:10 PM »
I'm starting to get a little antsy.  I've bugged my dealer.  I've bugged HR Customer Service.  I get a different time estimate from CS each time I hear back from them.  First it was "they should ship in two weeks".  Then it was "they should ship within the next month".    I picture them high-fiving each other after they reply to my requests for info and saying "Yes!  We got him again".  I'm constantly fighting off the urge to call my dealer and tell him to just get a .223.  I justify this urge with availability and cost of the .223 ammo.  I deny the urge by visualizing a prarie dog vaporizing as I watch through the scope

See, you guys are right.  It is a disease.  What's worse is that I don't even own one yet and I'm already afflicted.  I guess it would be called co-dependency since my friend owns a couple.

If anyone's heard anything, let me know.  Even if it's a rumor...that'll at least keep me distracted for a bit

The only thing I've heard was an email from Fred M at the SHOT show, he said the "fluting was a joke"...his words. If it's like the Marlin 917VSF fluting, it's real shallow and not barrel length, only partial. Just checked Sports South again, the .223 is the only one in stock, so far.

You see, the solution is quite simple. Buy a .223 now, and then get the .204 when it becomes available. What ever you get now, you'll still have the urge again when the .204 is out anyway :-D .
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens

They are out there.  I saw one at a gun show in Des Moines, Iowa a couple of weeks ago.  Looked pretty good to me, even though most people here don't like the stock.  Didn't really look at the fluting that close but it was a nice looking handi.  Might have to look into a new stock for my 223 heavy barrel
I must be crazy.

Bill,

I agree with Chunks.  Get the .223 and then the .204 when they are in stock.  There is a gun show coming up in Ogden so I will keep my eyes peeled.

Hey Gussman, is that gun show coming to Sandy first? I should pay closer attention. I wouldn't want to miss it. I live in Lehi. :D

Since I've already paid the dealer, it would be really easy to tell him just to get the .223.

Gus...you know what to do if they have one at the gun show.  If they've got one around the price I'm paying my dealer ($299), do exactly the opposite of what you did that time over in Omaha :P

If that doesn't pan out, I'll call my dealer.
