Wild turkey question...
« on: March 17, 2005, 11:08:12 PM »
We got our first wild turkey a couple weeks ago. My wife cooked some of the meat in a casserole that night. It was good, but the chunks of turkey were a bit tough, and had a strong flavor to it. The kids loved it, and the whole thing was gone, but I would like to get some advise before we use the rest of the meat. It was a young bird, and we skinned it. Does it need to be marinated? If anyone has any favorite recipes, or any cooking tips, we would appreciate the help.
Thanks.

sounds pretty standard to me.  i cook the breasts in a crockpot with onions until tender then i shred the meat and add bbq sauce.  it's good sandwich meat.

the legs are tough.  some eat them for moral reasons.
