I am thinking of buying a 12 ga. semi auto shotgun this spring and the Benelli M2 is at the top of my list. It will be used to hunt crows, dove, turkey, grouse and shoot skeet. If any one has had experience with one I would like to hear what they thought, good or bad. I almost have enough money saved so price is not a big negative. Is the camo finish durable? The max 4 camo looks good to me but black will work if it is more durable.

I bought an M2 about 2 months ago and absolutely love it. It pulls down so sweetly and aims true... and it is easily adjustable so you can make it fit you perfectly. I went pheasant hunting 2 weeks ago and took 4 birds with 4 shots. I was somewhat disappointed that I dropped them all with 1 shot because I was kind of looking forward to taking advantage of Benelli's super short feeding time. You've heard the hype of how fast Benelli's cycle rounds? Well it's true. Most semi-auto's fire kind of like BOOM, cha-chunk, BOOM, cha-chunk, BOOM, cha-chunk. The M2 just goes BOOM BOOM BOOM. It's beautiful. I have the black model, though the camo looked sweet too.

Definitely worth saving up for.

I have a 26" barrel as most of my bird hunting is upland game and duck. If I get into goose hunting I will go a little longer. But first I am going to get a deerslayer barrel, for those hunts in non-rifle areas and also as a back-up gun for pigs.

Do this little test at the gun store... take the Benelli and pick a target on the wall, and with both eyes open draw down on that target as if you were in the field, and then close your left eye (assuming you shoot right-handed). The bead will be dead-on the target. Now do this exact same exercise with several other shotguns and you will see how effectively the Benelli was designed. On most other shotguns the bead will be a little off the target when you close your left eye.

I have owned several really good quality shotguns and fired numerous others of varying grades, and the M2 is hands-down the best shooting, best feeling shotgun I have ever shot.
