You can makes sets like you do for  bvr and use carrots, apples potatoes for bait or you can hang a 110 with white plastic on trigger and rats will go for it thinking it is   roots.  This works for me and white plastic stays better on triggers than real bait.

:D  i've used the same type sets rdfx discribed, i used carrots, celery, white radishes, cattail roots, all worked. make sure you hang the conibear deep enough so the spring wont freeze into the ice. i've found that you need to place these kind of sets, no more than 2 ft. out from a bank ,closer if possible but that depends on the water depth. you want the trap hanging ,not sitting on the bottom. ideal spot is where the bank is shear straight and drops right off, doesnt slope off. give them a try. i've caught one mink in one of these sets, musta been a vegetarian! and i caught a 2lb. or so carp in one once! i put it to good use as fresh mink bait. good luck.  mark
