Anyone have an NEF Superlight in .243 Win
« on: March 17, 2005, 05:53:52 AM »
I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if the NEF Superlight model in .243 Winchester will stabilize 100 grain bullets for deer hunting. My grandpa wants this gun because of the light weight and compact size. He is  in his upper 70's and hasnt been out in a few years and thinks this would be the perfect gun for him as he can't handle a 7 pound rifle anymore. We hunt in michigans u.p. so shots will be mostly close range, not many exceeding 50 yards or so. He wants to use 100 grain core-locts or 100 grain partitions.

I purchased the Superlight .243 youth model for my wife.  That thing will simply shoot the heck out of the Rem. 100gr. core-lokt factory ammo.

When I scoped the rifle I had a heck of a time getting the mount and everything tightened up, but whe I did, wow!

My Superlite .243 is one of my favorite deer rifles and I found that it would only shoot the 100 grain bullets really good.I put a survivor butt stock on it and have been very satisfied with it.That buttstock makes you hold it tighter to your shoulder and is just pleasant in a deer stand.
The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

Is the rate of twist the same as the 223 regular handi rifle?
shot placement is everything.
