While boar hunting I had one run by me trying to slash me. But not attacked.  :D

I have had one sow with pigs just flat out charge. A load of 00 Buckshot in her face stopped her at 10 feet. The pigs were about 15 lbs and ran a short ways and started feeding.

Two of us had a wounded boar charge and it took a total of four 12 ga slugs to put down. He weighed 275 at the check station and had perfect 4 inch cutters.

Had a rabid possum come straight at us while sitting around a campfire. Snarling, foaming at the mouth, the works. Emptied my Colt Woodsman into it. Scared the crap out of my girlfriend of the month. Never got her back to the camp again.

We got plenty of critters that bite down here in these swamps.

I had a wounded one come for me after I wounded him with an arrow(I missed the heart/lung and got him in the stomach).  Finished him off with a .348 Win.  I helped haul two hunters that were cut up by a wounded boar that didn’t weight more than 175 lbs.  One hunter took over 200 stitches and nearly lost his leg not to mention his life if the third hunter hadn’t arrived to save their bacon.  All one has to do is go thru the records and you will find many accounts of charges by Wild Hogs.  The famous Howard Hill was one that comes to mind and there have been numerous reports/stories in Outdoor magazines.  All verified.  With razor sharp tusks and speed/agility to burn they can be a dangerous foe.  Are they Big Game?  YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!!  Lawdog
