A new link for old lion charge video

Guys the old lion charge video we had on here some while back has resurfaced with a new URL. Those who missed it before might want to check it out now.

GB, what are you doing on that site? Looking for some entertainment? :D
Seriously, thanks, I wanted to see that video, but the old link didn't work. Pretty cool.

Actually the link was posted by a GBO member on another forum. I recognized it and just listed it here as well as I knew many missed it when the old link went dead.

I looked around a little there as at first the link only got you to the site and not to the video. Some WEIRD stuff there.

GB-

You might want to put a little disclaimer next to this link.  The tape is interesting, but the comments that follow it include graphic descriptions of torturing and murdering hunters.  One is especially disturbing.  Then, of course, some of the links on the side don't look too family friendly.

Thanks for posting the link, though, it's an interesting tape.

I had to go back and look to see what you were even talking about. I never scrolled down and saw those comments. Yeah they are definitely NOT pro hunting at that site. I didn't even know the comments were down there until you brought it to my attention.

I just was viewing the film clip.  Is that fence posts running along behind the Lion?  The Lion look some what befuddled also.  I am surprised no one got shot with all that lead flying.

It looked to me like at least one of those guys would've been better equipped with a large bore revolver along the lines of an S&W 500.

There were some clips cut out: shot, and lion rolls  [snip] hunters walking towards the point of impact [snip] cutting to the lion...  charging lion and LOTS OF shots (cannot tell points of impact or whether its dust from the lion's paws).   I think it would have told a lot more of the story about the building of tension, the "hurry-up and wait" before the final panic.

Some other items: you cannot tell from the video how the lion appeared to the hunters -- he may have been closer than the video makes it look (much shorter time to charge than the cape buffalo sequence posted elsewhere on this forum).  Another point is that the proportions of a lion are startling: very tall, not very long -- long way from a deer or bear.

Lastly, it is very worthwhile to read the comments.  Anyone who is following the NJ bear hunt fight (its kicking up again with all the bear complaints this year) knows how whacky that can get.  There's really a lot of "burn 'em at the stake" witch hunt mentality among anti-hunters hating hunters.
