Accuracy from 10" .22 Mag Contender....
« on: February 16, 2003, 05:03:39 PM »
Lookin at a possible trade for a 10" .22 Mag. Contender bbl and was wondering if anyone who has had one might shed some insight on what kind of accuracy one can expect from these bbls. Thanks.

Contender 10" 22 mag barrel accuracy
« Reply #1 on: April 07, 2003, 08:26:12 AM »
Howdy, The Contender 22 mag factory bull barrel (10") that I own is a 3/4" @ 50 Yard gun with CCI maxi mags. It doesn't want to shoot as well with the premium ammo on the market. Another barrel may be different. I also have a Contender SS 22 match 10" barrel that will shoot one ragged hole at 25 yards with the now defunct CCI small game bullets. Both barrels sport a Burris 2 1/2-7 pistol scope with PA.  The 22 LR barrel is the first pistol I have been able to kill my limit of squirrel in a single morning.
I have also popped a couple crows with the 22 mag barrel @ 78 & 105 yards. The Contender RF barrels seem to be a bit more accurate that other factory barrels. I have a couple Bullberry CF barrels that shoot quite well also. Good shooting!
