30-06 full stock

I saw a handi set up with a short barrel and full-length wood.  It had a ramp front but the rear had been removed and a weaver rail, polished, installed.  It had a NK serial number.  Looked to be a factory barrel and the owner, a dealer, said that he thought The rifle had come from the factory the way it sat.  I had trouble believing that, but of course I could be mistaken.

He was asking $199 but I passed because I need  Hornet next.  A mistake?

I did find a guy who has one back at his shop in Kelso; I'm going up there this week to pick it up.  The '06 was tempting but I've got enough big guns.  I'll probably shoot the Hornet for a while and if I don't like it I'll rechamber to 218BEE.

In my opinion you did right.  Not much below reg dealer price for new one, and you know what you have then.  Bt the way, from the factory, the barrels have the last three digits og the receiver s# stamped on the barrel lug.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

Its possible the barrel was an accessory barrel fitted by the factory.  Check it out, you can get an '06 with open sights that way.  If you buy a 30-06 Handi, I have only seen them drilled and tapped and no open sights in the catalog.
