I don't need one yet but does anyone know if new Butt stocks for the BC are available from NEF? I have not seen them listed on the site.. Anyone know if the sraight shotgun stock with the recoil pad will fit the BC? It a Laminated green and brown 12 Ga. NEF shotgun. I have not taken them apart to try it yet.

MSP said the BC stock is available, but you have to ask for it, it's not listed in the retail price list. The shotgun stock should fit fine, the BC frame is just an SB2 that's been color case treated.

Thanks. For better or worse I have decided to put the tang sight from Midway on it for long range Black Powder shooting. This has its pro's and cons but in the long run I think its the best option. The long sight radius and simple windage adjustment is what has prompted me to go with that sight. It may take more frequent adjustment but by sighting in before a match starts, I thing any movement there may be can be compensated for. I hope this turns out to me the way to go. I wany to shoot the gun out to 800- 1000 yards.

Which tang sight from Midway were you planning on shooting 800 to 1,000 yards with?  I was not aware that they were selling tall vernier style soule sights that had that much elevation.

Just remember to shoot that far you will need a staff that is at least 3.5" tall and will give you plenty of windage right or left.

Its a sight they say is made for the Browning without the tang and the H&R Buffalo classic. The info does not say how tall the staff is. Maybe I better call them and see if they know. It is windage adjustable but again there is no info as to how much. Do you know of one right off that does meet the needs?

Interesting concept and one I'd been interested in for a while.  A tang peep on a tangless rifle.  If you purchase one, please post on its installation and versatility.  It's of particular interest how high it is and what front sights are compatable with it.  If you install it, a pic of it on your rifle would be great if you could swing it.  Thanks for bringing this into the discussion.

I saw some pictures of it posted somewhere but I don't remember where. There is a gunsmith in Montana who has been doing them. I emailed him but never got a reply. I quess he is pretty busy. I will keep you posted.

That's the same price as at Midway, quickdtoo, but what I'm wanting to see is how it looks installed, and just what the logistics of doing that amount to.   Oh btw,  on my stock for my BC I've tried pillar bedding, though I have no idea if what I've done here fits that definition.  Should be ready to shoot in April.

Thanks.  It looks right pretty.  I can't tell if the wood is inletted or not, though that might depend on how high you needed it to be.

I may have to try one of the Shaver tang sights. I think there is one that is plenty tall. There is also a Pedersoli one that is four inches tall.

This is the one Lee did for me.  It WILL take you to 1000yds for sure with BP loads.



By the way, I had him reverse the sight in the mount so it would lay down properly on the stock.
