Sorry about that folks
« on: March 15, 2005, 10:43:08 AM »
My apologies for posting, “Have Conservatives Lost Their Edge”, I really thought we could have fun with this.  No issues with free speech it is a private forum.  The liberal or conservative bashing, we have traded in has brought me some good laughs and forced me to re-think some views.  I never viewed it as a personal attack, but took it as well meant criticism of my views.   I would hope that we could all continue to look for and laugh at the ironies that politics and politician provide us, not to mention ourselves.  In Hindsight I should have included a “right” to “left” example and a classic liberal reference, so in fairness:

Liberals like Clinton, think government service is like animal husbandry; you bend people over a desk and then you service them.

The only reason Kerry kept saying, “wrong war wrong time”, was because it was the right thing to do and he did not think of it.

Waco was Janet RenoÂ’s idea of religious freedom.

Again my apologies, I will have to remain content with being left, as it were, with the mediocre bashings of late.

You must realize I have a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY low tolerance for liberals. That you are still allowed to post here is a minor miricle in itself. To be expected to be allowed much lattitude for liberal ramblings is to expect too much here. Ain't gonna happen. Yes I'm closed minded to such views and very intolerant of them. So what's new? I've made no secret of that.

Most often I just disable their accounts and be done with it.

I was prepared to swap side stories/thoughts/ideas, thought it was a good vehicle for seeing other thoughts.
I kind of like having a Liberal/left winger around, you bring in thoughts not considered. Not that your thoughts are considered by many, but I think about them. Some have merit, too me, some do not.
I am amused that folks only want the comfort of being agreed with and fear someone who does not. I have never figgered out why anybody would fear a disagreement when they never fear disagreeing.
Just me thinking, all others must do their own.

Fear ain't got nothing to do with it Bill. I just know I do not agree with their views and being the one paying the bills here I don't wish to hear it. Yes I'm an ornery old cuss and set in my ways. Such is life.

I know this sounds odd but GB is right.  I may not agree, but it is is his forum, and frankly I was in fact pushing the envelope.

GB, it might be fun to have a "driving range" where we could tee each other up and off.  Minimal rules,  clean language, respect for religion, no race baiting, and for the child in all of us no mothers.

Anyway thanks again GB, for the forum.

Nope. Shoulder can't take the recoil of the 10 ga. anymore. Had to drop back to using a 20 ga.  :-D

We only have one set of rules here. They apply equally on ALL forums. Until such time as I relinquish control of the site that's the way it will always be. Some folks don't like the rules but that's fine cuz for the most part those folks are not the ones I want here anyway.

When this old fat boy is dead and gone then ya'll can deal with Matt and perhaps Mrs. GB on new rules. Of course you have to understand Matt's not nearly as nice as I am.

I can respect any opinion - so long as it REALLY belongs to the person who is saying it, and not just something they've heard on talk radio, in college, or from any other propaganda machine.  I can't respect offerings from people just parrot what they've heard elsewhere and try to act like they know everything.  I think it's important to know WHY you have the opinion you do.

I agree 110%. I will respect any opinion, that is until the opinion starts attacking mine. Then I will fight back until the horse is beaten dead. Like in the case of azshooter in the Second Amendment Forum during the election, that was a load of crap. He was losing a battle and didn't give up. Then finally he was de-activated. Horray.  :D

I Think most people want the same thing.  A decent life, and a better life for their children.  The opinions of how to get those things, is what varies.  We may not and well should not always agree.  If we did not disagree we would be like lemmings.  If there is only one way, and if it happens to be wrong we all go over the cliff.  Thats why I am somewhat partial to this constitutional democratic republic, that I am fortunate enough to live in.  So express you opinion, I will probably learn something. (I just will not give you the satisfaction of admiting it, honest just kidding)

Mr. Layton,

In this case, 'azshooter' (some might remember him) was in a severe minority. He was pitting himself against all of us. There comes a time and a place when a man knows he needs to shut it. Well, he didn't. I mean, I prolly shoulda rephrased my sentence. If someone has a difference of opinion with my opinion, we'll prolly debate it out until either one of us gets tired or until I'm proven right. Now for that same token if I have been bashed to death and the end result is me being wrong or severly outnumbered, I'll know to just back off. Azshooter didn't know that.

But that's me.  :D

You've mentioned Azshooter several times now as to his comments and positions in the election discussions here. Now I admit to being old and having CRS but I honestly do not remember that member as being one so many of us disagreed with back then. I do recall several to include one rather active in this thread but not Azshooter.

I deactivated a few accounts back then temporarily cuz I got tired of listening to the liberal whinings. As I said I am ornery and set in my ways.

GB,

We exchanged several PM's on the matter. I thought you might have been being blunt with how you were dealing with him. You made it quite clear that you really didn't care if you were and that I were to back off. Ring a bell? Not long after that he was de-activated.  :D

I seem to recall a little about the event, just didn't recall it being that member. Not saying it wasn't. Just that the old CRS is working over time for me on that member name. There was another who's name escapes me right now that I deactivated for this same thing at that time and he registered under about 3-4 new names and each time I removed them. He too is back now and reinstated. I just got tired of listening to the liberal BS at the time and took the action.

Most folks get reinstated after a cooling off period unless they violate some hard and fast rule of the site like posting porn or making serious personal attacks.

Yeah Brett;

We need a little comic relief...

Strange...My youngest brother is an incorrigible liberal...can't understand why...except his life experiences are greatly different than mine...
His life has been in Academia ...Drs. degree...mine in middle America, construction...he union ..me mostly non-union...

We have had discussions...a veritable Hannity & Colmes..

Even with his extensive education..mostly all I get is a stream of "talking points"...

Other subjects, he can converse very intelligently....but with politics it is a stream of "canned remarks"

He even quotes Michael Moore...and I KNOW that he knows better than to believe such a liar.

One term I use regularly because it so well points up liberal mind set...by ridicule. that term..." Liberal logic ".

I love him as a brother...but we sure don't see eye to eye..

Well, If you ask me the liberals have a pretty odd sense of compassion themselves...abortion 'rights', euthanasia, welfare (making people dependant on government hand outs), free needles for junkies.....

Oh, and let's not forget one of the greatest, compassionate, liberal organisations ever...PETA.

Yeah Brett...

Don't forget "The war on poverty" that put millions more IN poverty and crime, since there was free money if Dad were kicked out of the house.

The libs will never "get it", their idea of compassion is to make more people DEPENDANT on the "nanny state".

They pay cash to women with illegitimate children maybe 8 or 10 in some cases. Some even "borrow" their neighbor's or sister's kids to get more $$$.
They pay rewards to junkies hoping they may quit drugs.

They want to keep the "no questions asked" welfare system..

   Try to "buy off" terrorists..

They should know this...whatever a govt will subsidise, they will get more of !!......DUH
