hollow base mold

The hollow base is for low pressure loads like Black Powder.  The edges of the hollow, the "skirts", bump up to bore size easier with the low pressure loadings.  LeftoverDJ said that Lee's 405gr .459HB shoots very well in his 45-70.  I have that mold as well, but haven't set up my casting station since I moved a couple months ago so I can't comment on it myself.
