.243 15" Encore
« on: March 24, 2005, 12:35:35 PM »
I posted this on the handgun hunting board first but got no replies. I just got a 15" barrel for my Encore for dogs and deer. Does anyone use this for deer? I was just wondering if a deer sized bullet will stablize in it?
Thanks
Bob

I would think that about an 85 grain bullet would be about max, but the only way to find out how your barrel will preform is to try it. some people think the 243 is a little lite for deer size animals, but I think if you limit your shots to a reasonable distance and do a well placed shot they do a great job. as for dogs what ever shoots well.
