I recently picked up some Lapua brass in .308 Win on sale. While all my other brass is shiny from base to neck (at least when new). the Lapua brass is shiny over 3/4 of its length, and duller and darker on the top end, including the bottleneck. I assume this was some kind of annealing, but wasn't sure. Any comments?

........Yes that is the annealing process and they just don't polish/tumble the brass off after the process unlike most others.......the stuff cost a bit more but it sure is consistant in wall thickness in my samples.....good luck and good shooting-loading!!!

I hate the price of the Lapua brass, about $ .50 ea. in anything, but I have acouple of gun that I have to buy it for to form the cases I need. AND, I must admit it is the most uniform on the market.
