I remain skeptical.  There's just too many ways to make phony photos these days.  Without the carcass, or at least the skeleton, this thing is just another "big foot" to me.

Dusty Miller,

Hogzilla was true just not as big as the original claim stated.  They dug him up and the length was under the original claim of 12 feet.  and the weight was put around 800 lbs. instead of the 1,000 lbs. as claimed.  Still a big hog and to think his genes are running around in his off spring.  Makes one wonder about junior?  Lawdog

Actually, the photo with the posted link was probably not faked.  Look carefully, the guy is standing in a hole, the hog is slightly in front of him; measure the guy and compare that with the hog.  The National Geographic show analyzed the photo and came to the same conclusion of an 8.5' hog - the photo is real if you look closely.   No need to fake it, people see what they want to see.

To me the most interesting part of the show wasn't Hogzilla at all - it was the statement that domestic pigs can go feral in a couple weeks, and their first-generation offspring will have coarse hair, long faces and big tusks....   Hogzilla has the world record for wild hog tusk length BTW.

There is a Monster Hog on Cumberland Island
Ga. also. I have seen it myself but we were not allowed to
shoot anything except whitetail (we were on a Quota hunt)
It of course was not as large as the one in the picture,
but I would have easily put it at  550 to 600 lbs.
It only had one Tusk, the other was broken off.
But the one it had looked about the size of the blade on my
Ka-Bar!
