I would like to build a project rifle, probably in a Rem 260. I need help with the receiver. At this point, I have ordered a Rem 700 CDL in .243 just to get the receiver. I am 2nd guessing myselft. I looked at Winchester, but was unable to locate anything in left handed that is bolt faced for a .308. I have looked at some of the independant makers such as Montana Rifleman, and Nesika Bay. Both look nice, and cost a little more. My question is are they worth the extra money vs having the Rem 700 worked on, such as trueing the action. My other question is the availablility of other parts, such as stocks, triggers, scope mounts, etc. Will an independant action cost more in the long run to build up as a rifle?
