25-35 cast bullets reloads
« on: April 04, 2005, 01:54:23 PM »
Does anyone have any 25-35 cast bullet reloading info? I am shooting RCBS's 120 grainer...I have been shooting 117 Hornady's with 4895, with good results, but cannot scare up any cast bullet stuff. Even the 250 Savage loads do not really show me what I want (if I reduced the charge).

Please help me guys.

The .25-35 with the heavy bullets is one of those cartridges for which jacketed data is suitable for cast. Any of Steve's starting loads should be a suitable starting load for your 120 grain RCBS.

I am about to do some cast bullet loading of the 25-35 myself and I'll quote Lyman's 42nd edition which lists the 110 grain bullet (257325) but none larger. The powders listed for the 110 grain bullet are as follows; 5 grains of Unique @ 1170 fps, 7 grains of 2400 @ 1160 fps, 8 grains of 4227 @ 1200 fps,  15 grains of 4198 @ 1880 fps,  10 grains of 4227 @ 1500 fps, 13.4 grains of 2400 @ 1920 fps.....hope this helps. Again, this is straight out of the Lyman 42nd reloading manual.
