Anybody use the Hunter Scoped Badoleer holster.
« on: September 04, 2005, 06:06:32 PM »
I've seen the Hunter co. Leather scoped handgun holster for $54 at sportsman's guide. It comes in a belt configuration and bandoleer style. Uses an adjustable hood for the scope cover.

Has anybody tried this at all? Thinking about this for a RSBHH.

Thanks.

I am also thinking about the same outfit but I want mine without the scope type.  Where did you see them for sale?

My bro. in law has one for his scoped 629 Hunter and it works just fine. I just ordered one, as well. Its not as nice as one that is fitted to your rig but it serves it purpose very well as far as I can see and its a very reasonable price ($54.00).

I also have the one for a non-scoped 629 and it fits the gun well. Very good for the money ($99.00).

I love a leather bandoleer holster. Just throw it over your shoulder and out you go.

have you checked Cabela's? I bought their scoped bandoleer holster for $29. I like it. works very well with my scoped SRH.

Geno,

That is a nice holster especially for the price, I've use a lot of cordura holsters but I'm just leaning towards leather this time. The rig from pistol packing is dang nice but at $54 I think the Hunter holster might be worth a try this time.

I've hunted with one for a number of years.  They are good holsters for a number of reasons:

They stay out of the way

Quick retrieval of the weapon

More comfortable to tote on ling hauls in the woods

That being said, when I'm carrying a non-scoped pistol of barrel length in the 5-6" range, I prefer a cross draw holster.

For the baldoleer holster, make use of the holes at the bottom to attach the bottom to your belt or belt loop so that when you lean over the rug doesn't swing out away from your body.
When the heart is light the feet are swift.

Got it in...

Got in on Saturday and, so far, like what I see. I like the fact that I am not limited to a particular type of pistol. I can put my 629 in this thing as well as my 6.5" BFR .454.

Not bad for $54.00.

Glad to hear you like it, I decided to order both the bandolier and the belt version this last saturday and am anxious to get them and try them out.

Will this holster work for a 7 1/2" barrelled Beretta Neo 22LR with scope as well?
