i'm looking to get a heavy single stage press to form some brass for my 309 jdj . I use a lee turret to reload my ammo on but looking for something heavier to form on, Any suggestions and why?

I have no brand loyalty, but its hard to find a more powerful press than the RCBS Rockchucker. Its not totally left-handed friendly but I can live with that, Ive been dealing with that all my life. Its a heavy sucker, with a 1 inch ram.

Spend what you want. Its hard to find a better press then the Rockchucker at the same price.

Lee classic cast, The thing is a brute the old rock chucker has been dethroned.

And alot less expensive than anyone elses.

BTW It can be set up right or left handed and will do .50BMG with a couple of add ons.

Remember, you get what you pay for. Even the best equipment wears out. But cheap equipment wears out 2 to 3 times faster.

The Lee cast is inexpensive not cheap... Big diffrence. My Lee turrent press is over 25years old... Inexpensive not cheap.

I think alot of people who talk down Lee equipment should really take a look at this new press close before passing judgement. Its good equipment period!

I use a rockchucker press, and have used it for some case forming with no problems. It's just as smooth and precise as the day I got it.
I wish I could hold up as well as my press.
