:-) howdy yall. iwrote a mounth ago about what calliber would do for yots and deer but know i think i well only use it for yots. i dont know alot about long range shooting . i have been shooting bows for the last 20 years. but i think a 223 or 243 would be the best for yots. and what is the difference between the h&r ultra hunter and the plain jane nef both have the same 22" barrel lenth. and what calliber would cheaper to shoot with out reloading.
it only takes one shot.if ya need more.go sight in your gun!!!

Welcome... :D
I don't own either caliber...but...I do know you'll want to get the 24" bull barrel for either one...they seem to group better...Winchester white baox ammo for the 223 seems to be the best  factory ammo to use in the 223...and the band is still out on the 243...I just might have to get me one of the Bull 243's to play around with...

Without a doubt the .223 would be cheaper, and do quite well for yotes. I have a Handi with an Ultra 223 barrel on it and it shoots very well.

I think the difference between the Ultra and the plain Jane Handi would be the stock. If you look at the frames of the two side by side they look the same.

But the .243 would be an excellent muti-purpose round, and the coyote rounds would reach out further.
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens

My meaning was on it's accuracy in either the standard barrel or the bull barrel...there really hasn't been too many groups posted between the them...and very few on the bull barrel version...

My next range report will include my .243 Ultra Varmint, it has only been to the range once and it had a scope problem...next time will be different!!

The scattered shots are just goofing off. The group to the right was much more serious, and the group to the left, most center was after I made an adjustment to the scope so they were more center with that one flier. I don't know if I was resposible for that or the rifle/load variation. But I'm extremely pleased with my .243 :D

The coin for comparison is a dime.
