Got a Steal of a Deal.
« on: April 02, 2005, 03:17:25 PM »
Went to the local sports and game show tonite it runs through Sunday. Walmart had a booth there with their normal close out items they sell. Fishing stuff, Gun cases, Camping chairs ect and odds and ends from their sporting dept. Anyway I looked at a table that looked like it had guns on it in blisterpacks. Yep they were Daisy Co2 pistols that looked like a Beretta and Crossman 357/6 10 shot revolvers ( 177) CO2 pistols that are suppose to Copy the Colt Python 357. Well the Crossman ones were the cheapest and the daisy ones 4 bucks more. I bought the Crossman as I have always prefered them over the Daisy guns as a kid. Even though I am far from that age now. I bought it because I cannot pass up a bargain and yep these were brand new and not factory remanufactured ones. So what was the bargain you ask??? How about 7 bucks!    Yep 7 bucks and the average price I have seen these on the net were for 50.    I Figured they probably sold for 35 to 40 bucks when I bought it but on the net I see they were averaging 50 bucks so that impressed me. A few folks at the show asked me what I bought it for and I told them feral cat shooting.  Needless to say Some agreed and some did not.  Anyway it will be a fun gun to plink with ( 435 Vel) and Hey it has a rifled barrel so I bet it will shoot fairly good.  Any one got one of these here and what do you think of them? Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I've got a Crossman that is made to look like a 1911 that I use in the winter time to plink indoors with. I took a cardboard box about 12 inches square and stuffed it full of plastic bags like you get your groceries or stuff from Walmart in and it makes a good bullet trap. In my living room I can shoot about 20 ft. It has a round plastic clip that holds 6 or 8 pellets and shoots pretty good until the pressure starts dropping on the co-2 cylinder. Be sure to pack the plastic bags pretty tight if you try this. Also if you are a real tight wad like me a lot of times you can re-use the pellets if you can fish them out of the plastic.
