Check out these 3 barrels for sale at http://www.gunsamerica.com/fast.cgi?guncat=1246.

There's a 3/4 scale reproduction 3" ordance rifle cannon 55" long and weighing 340lbs for $1610, a 2/3 scale field cannon barrel that is 43" long, weighs 250 pounds, and has a steel lined 2 1/4" bore (seamless???) for $1100, and a 1/2 scale napoleon barrel 36" long weighing 150lbs and a 3/16" liner for $795.

Might be worth checking out, especially if the liners are seamless.

Wonder if that's Cannon Mike's that's listed in the "Where to find Blackpowder Cannons and shooting supplies" sticky?

Some who was willing to make a fool of himself, might state that they look a lot like Herns Iron works barrels that someone is trying to resell for a profit. Then again he could be mistaken.

Good Catch! I did a side by side comparison and it sure looks like you are right. Same specs and apperance. Only the prices are higher, much higher than Hern. I didn't know Hern's barrels have steel liners. I thought I read somewhere on this board that's not the case.

I here they come standard with a 1/4 " liner but will cast around a liner that you provide.
That would make them the cheapest way into full scale civil war artillery.

CAV Trooper,

They are two different people. Cannon Mike is from Oregon and the person listing (Mike's Cannon) on Guns America has an area code (406) from Montana. Also, I belive that all of Cannon Mike's stuff is machined not cast. Hope that helps.

Thanks. I knew that tubes from Mike's Cannon were machined but thought maybe he was branching out.

Looking again, I have to agree those tubes look just like Hern products.

Sorry, but after seeing pictures in the SBR catalog of how FUBAR a tube can get when the sleeve is cast in place, I'll never buy one that isn't cast solid and then sleeved after being drilled.

Dixie Gun Works also sells barrels from Hern Iron Works at a rather hefty profit. I have a half scale Napoleon from Hern and absolutely love it.... will be buying their Coehorn barrel within a month or two.
