OK--let me throw in one more thought---when using very heavy cast lead bullets---eg: long bullets----the shorter .454 case will run out of capacity before the .460 case and this would result in greater velocity for the .460 ----at least in theory. But S&W is pushing the high velocity as a marketing theme so as not to encroach on the .500 S&W power theme. I'll stick my neck out and postulate that with a very long, heavy bullet, say 400 to 450 gr, the .460 would be close or maybe even better than the .500!!! Should I duck for cover now?? pg
