What will you be using the rifle for ... paper targets? varmits? coyotes? hogs? What kind of terrain will you be hunting?

For my range rifles, I like 6-24x40 and for general hunting conditions, I use 3-9x40 and 4-16x40 scopes. I just bought a Swift 4-12x40 for my first Handi in .223 and I am happy with it. It is a model 676M and was $150.00. I am using this rifle for a coyote setup and will use it set at 4x to 6x most of the time as it is pretty hilly where I hunt.

I just looked at the same rifle you are getting except in .223 today. I like the bull barrels too.

I seem to like Bushnell Banner and the like scopes. I have a BSA on my 243 and it's worked quite well so far, but they are cheap and many poeple don't like them.
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens

I have a Burris FullField II 3x9x40 ballistic plex on mine...should work pretty good for just about anything...not as good as a higher power for varmints or serious target shooting...but genneral  shooting and hunting will work fine...

I've got a 4-16x50IGR Mueller Sport Dot on my .243 Ultra Varmint, works great!!! Haven't shot any varmints yet, but the scope sure works nice for shooting small groups and should work fine on yotes which is its intended purpose.

Nice group with your .243 Ultra quickdtoo! I was looking at a new Ultra in .223 today and it might be mine tomorrow. He had it priced at $250 which I didn't think was too bad for a gunshop price. I might try a Mueller 50mm scope on it if I get it as I have a friend who uses nothing but Muellers and has no problems with any of them.

I will be using this gun for a yote killer. Also for hogs when I am plowing on the atv.

I just one an auction on ebay for a SIMMONS PROHUNTER 6-18x40 AO Rifle Scope 78$.

Hopefully this will work okay.

thanks for the info!!!!
