Bee season; AARgh

I'm sitting on my front porch enjoying a spring-like evening and thinking, pretty soon the carpenter bees will be out.  Guess what flies down the length of my eave?  Dang!  I run into the house, dig out the Single Six, load 'er up with shot and go back out.  While I'm looking for that SOB, I see a couple of holes in the facia board of my recently re-painted house.  Out comes the ladder, they're old, inactive holes, back to the shop to make some hard-wood plugs and a can of paint.  'Second plug splits the board.  Back for screws to fix that!  This is getting to be WORK!  I didn't even see that bee again, but I'll get him eventually!  I hate those buggers!

At our range, we call'em 'thirty caliber bees'!  About that size of hole.  My little Italian single-action .22 with rat shot is great for 'bee skeet'!

I hate sitting at the bench sighting in . . . and down comes this fine sprinkle of wood dust . . .  :?
