no excuses in renegade .50

I recently purchased a box of no excuse conicals in 460 grn.  They come pre lubed.  What is a good loading procedure?  Is a wad required?  Any suggestions appreciated.

I think you mean is a patch required?  No, not with conicals, but if you were shooting round balls of .490 dia. you would want a patch prolly of .015 to make a tight fit.  The lubed conical is closer to .50 cal. & fits tight enough for no patch.

I shoot conicals out of my T/C 50 and 54 caliber rifles. I use wonder wads between the powder and bullet. I find this helps with accuracy.  The ones I use are made by Ox Yoke and are prelubed with Wonder Lube 1000 Plus. Some guys just shove the conical down on top of the powder charge. either way will work, but I prefer to use a wad. You might try both methods and see what you like best. 8)

Well Hoss, it ain't gonna make no differance ifn ya use a wad or not. After anyone uses a box of no-excuse conicals to determine proper load,,for the projectile....They'll never hold steady without a "flinch" again without therapy!! :D
Anyone ever wonder why "no-excuse" projectiles are in the bargin-bin?? at every Sportsmans Whrses, and BassPro shop? Look at it this way Hoss, if them things was so good, every published rag and all of the web sights would have said so.
Now, ya ain't done wrong,,the cost of the things at half-price is worth the lead thay's made of. And the grease they got is a good "flux".

Wanna know what's good to shoot from the .50 Renegade? Try a patched round ball. truth,, luck to ya.
i'm a realist. i've not seen it all, but man ,,I've Been Around the block once or twice
