Author Topic: Stainless Encore Owners / Question about Rings&Bases (Read 706 times)

I have stainless Encore and I am in the process of selecting a scope and mounting system. I have a couple of questions for other SS Encore owners.

Did you put nickle or matte blue bases and rings on your gun?
If nickle which barnd did you use and and do they match the finish of gun?

Maybe this sounds off the wall but I am trying to put together the last rifle I will probably ever buy and I want it to look right.

I would appreciate any replies.

I use Warne mounts and rings. I use the silver matte finish on my Stainless guns. http://www.warnescopemounts.com/

I am a fan of the Warne mounts. I just use the regular matte ones with medium height rings, and a matte black scope. Doesn't look bad but I have the black composite stock.

I use both Warne and the Leupold dual dovetail mounts. For my stainless rifles, including my two Encores, I use the matte silver finish bases with the matte blued rings. The base matches the stainless barrel finish, and the rings match the matte blued scope finish. Looks great to my eyes!

I use either VVCG ( now Statton Custom strattoncustom@infowest.com
) stainless bass and Warne QD matte blue rings or nickle Burris Dual Dovetail base and Signiture rings. If I don't plan on removing scope I use the Burris. I like the matte blue scope and rings on stainless base . On silver scoopes I use nickle rings. I use the composite black stocks with hangerbar forearm.

I ordered the Burris base and rings in nickle finish. It did not match my barrel and I did not like the looks of it. I exchanged them for the blue base and rings. I like the looks better. My silver scope did not match too well either so I am going to get a blue one.

I appreciate the replies. I havea silver weaver base on my encore and really just dont like the way it looks, it doesn't match the finish. I have the black stocks on mine and I think I am going to go with the matte finish rings and base.
