I just got a 15 inch 243 winchester encore barrel
I now have the dies, brass and bullets to load for it. however I can't find much data for it (out of a short tube) in any of my reloading books.

I have
New winchester 243 winchester brass
Remington 80 gr 243 cal. PSP cl-wc
powders on hand
IMR 4895
H322
Blue dot
red dot
hodgdon clays
winchester 296

Can anyone recommend a good starting load?

ricky......ya might look into a hodgdon annual load manual(cheap in paperback form). it has 15" .243 data ....although only with hodgdon powders. H322 , Benchmark and Varget should be some good ones to try. only load i have in mine right now is AA2015 with a 87gr v-max. IMR4198 with the same bullet ain't bad either.

if ya wanna email me........i think i have some blue dot data for .243 in rifle form, which wouldn't matter as only the velocity would be different.

My favorite:
H-4350 From 36.4 grains to 45.5 grains
Remington 9-1/2 Primer

IMR-4895, H-322, Blue Dot, Red Dot, Clays and W-296 are fine powders, but not for what you want to do.

This is what I have on hand. The only place to buy powder close ot me doenst stock a lot of powders he told me he can order me what I want then gives me a sond and dance about how much he has to order and that no onw will buy it.
