TC said hammer spur would make 22 lr not fire.

So I will take it off and try it.

As I said in earlier post, the 22 lr never is dented.

Has this happened to any of you?

Anything is possible - however, I use only the lightweight hammer extensions on my Contenders.  I have never heard of this happening before. Let us know how it works out.

Happened to me about 15 years ago.  T/C rebuilt my gun twice and it still misfired with both center and rimfire rounds.  They finally asked me if it had a hammer ext. which it did.  They rebuilt it for a 3rd time because they said the hammer ext. had weakened the springs.  No more misfires in 15 years without the hammer ext.  Mine did dent the primers though, just not enough to fire.

If you are not getting any dent at all then its not the hammer extension. The safety is not being pushed out of the way. Probably locking lugs not engaging deep enough. If this is a new barrel for you I would put money on it. I have used steel extentions for years on all kinds of barrels and never had a problem.   KN

What do you mean 'safety' not pushed out of the way?
Where is this safety?
Would this make sense to shoot centerfire but not rimfire?
I do not have a manual yet.

both of my frames have an uncle mikes hammer extinction on them they have been on them for about 15 years and no troubles with them

Check your selector switch to make sure it is all the way to the rimfire side, not in the middle or on the center fire side.

The newer TCs have an internal hammer block safety. If you do not hold the trigger all the way back until after the bang the safety may be blocking the hammer. You also have to clean the safety so that it has free movement.

There is a butterfly type lever below the breach face in the frame that is pushed out of the way by the lucking lugs on the barrel. Quite often a barrels lugs will not engage deep enough into the frame to push this completely out of the way. It will block the hammer. It will some times show up as light primer hits also if it is boarder line engagement. Hope this makes sense.  KN

I took off the hammer spur and tried the 22 lr out.
It still would not shoot.
I noticed if I slammed the barrel shut real hard the gun would shoot most of the time.
Also I notice when the gun did not shoot the hammer did not go all the way down.

It this the safety not working all the way as yall mentioned?
Is this something I can fix?
Or do I send it to TC arms?

My gun was made in 1987 I believe.
So it is not a newer one  I would think.
Mostly center fire shoots, though not always.

Thats exactly what I was talking about. The lugs are not engaging far enough to push the safety out of the way. When you slam it shut it forces the lugs to go a little deeper. Send the barrel back to TC and they will replace the lugs with the right ones.  KN

I will call tc about shipping instructions.

I will say I shot better with that 22 lr super 14 than I ever have with a pistol at 25 yards, when it shot.

I look forward to it working well.
