I have a chance to purchase a Blued 4 5/8" BlackHawk .357 3 Screw.
Made around 1967.
Looks like it was shot very little, Everything seems tight.

Blue 95%
Barrel to Cyl. gap .006
Bore .358-.359
Throats .359-.360
Timing looks good

What is a fair Price

I've paid as little as $300 and as much as $400 for one, depends largely on condition, whether it has box and papers, etc.  Pose the question on the Ruger Forum.

ive payed as little as $200 for one that was drilled and tapped to $450 for a flat top in ex shape. A good non flattop goes for around $350

If I remember right I paid $ 75 for mine and $ 90 for my Super Black .44 mag. Those are new in the box prices at the PX in Germany in 1967. Still got both and they both still shoot as good as ever. Killed several deer with the .44 mag.

Has blck plastic grip with Ruger medallion.

just keep in mind that those black plastic grips will bring $75 to $100 just on there own.

Because those look cheesy to me and will be coming off for a set of Laminated ones.

Walnut was standard.  That's why plastic is desirable.  The walnut grips tend to split if the screw is over-tightened. 8)

O.K.:
Picked it up for $200.00
Blackhawk .357 Pre-Fix, Flat top
Black plastic grips with Ruger Medallion, bird has no neck feathers.
Conversion not done.
Included was a leather holster from
Buffalo Brand
95% blueing ( Holster wear ).
Looks fired very little
How did I do ?

theres a used .357 Blackhawk at shop 10mile south of me with a scope on it for $279 or $289.  

I'm thinking about picking it up and burning up some of the 600-800 rounds I got loaded. lol

This thing is a nice shooter.
This makes 3 Ruger SA for me so far.
.357 Mag. Flat Top , .44 Mag. SBH and .45 Colt SS Vaquero.

You sound like you are new to Ruger SA's so I want to remind you to load 5 and not 6 in the flat top.  An easy way to do that is load one, skip the next, and load 4 more and close the gate.  This should put the hammer on an empty chamber.  This is not necessary for the new models.  Enjoy it, you got a heck of a deal!

I hadn't thought of that, load 1 then skip one.
I been doing it the hard way, learn Sumpin' new every day :-) .
Just got my reloading stuff for the 38/357
any suggestions on a good load for practice.
Not to light though, I like to know I'm holding a .357 Mag :)
