What happened to Ross Seifried(sp?) ?

I haven't seen anything by Seyfried in a while, did he quit working for Rifle magazine?  He's an excellent writer.  (I'm still not happy about all the BPCR coverage in that magazine.)

I'v heard it was a more or less mutual agreement between him and Scoville. Now we get month after month of Venturinos(hes a friend of Hank Williams jr ya know  ) drivel and they'll soon be changing the mags title to "Pistol" magazine and Hand(gun)loader. Can you tell I'm happy with the change?
Seyfried is writing for "Double Gun Journal" and American Handgunner". Probably others too.

See my post here on "venturino poisoning". This historical and frontier nonsense has gone too far.  I like handguns, and I don't see Venturino doing anything interesting at all with handguns.  I simply don't care about the old relics he finds and shoots. I don't care about the old relic rifles he finds and shoots.

It could be worse, they could have John Taffin writing for them, and then we'd see articles about how much he enjoys watching John Wayne movies on television with his relatives. Imagine that! From guys like Elmer Keith and Jack O'Connor to guys like Mike Venturino and John Taffin in just one generation!  The world is going to he l l after all.

Well not all of us care for the latest super duper short mags or 50 articles a month on the 45 either.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I quit subscribing to all gun magazines a few years ago.  The only magazine I receive is the American Rifleman and that's only because I'm a member of the NRA and receive it by default.  I guess I could change to get the American Hunter instead of the Rifleman but I'm not sure it would be any improvement.
For a while I thought Precision Shooting was the answer because its stated purpose was to deal exclusively with the subject of extreme rifle accuracy.  It was pretty good but some of the articles had nothing to do with rifle accuracy so I dropped it, also.

I have always enjoyed Mike's writing.  He fills the niche, and while he is not writing about a lot of other shooting related items, I appreciate it.  How many times do you read about the same hunt by five different writers in the different gun magazines.  I enjoy one story of a industry sponsored hunt, but after two or three it gets old.

I LIKE the super-duper magnums ! :excuseme:

Other than 22's, In my book, if it isn't Magnum or at least close to it, it IS NOT WORTH OWNING !!!!!!!!!!!
Go MAGNUM/MAX LOAD or GO HOME !
Always use MUCH more gun than the minimum required to do the job.
Recoil is your FRIEND...It lets you know you are using something WORTHWHILE !
