Bog is there a setting device you would recommend for those who are are new to the use of 330s?

I use a setting tongs for my 330s,works well for me.One thing to remember when you depress the spring,dont let loose of the tongs.The spring will fly back to its original shape,thus sending the tongs flying into one of your body parts.

i find myself too cheap to buy a pair of tongs, plus i don't have too large of an amount of 330's to make it worth it.  i have tried the rope method, which works good, but the eyes of most traps aren't closed all the way and can slip out.  so what i do, i either put my boot or my knee on the trap jaws, while on a hard surface, and just push the springs down by hand and latch the spring safety.  i'm a pretty big guy, and it helps to have a little weight behind ya to help.

I can get a 330 set by hand without too much effort if I have to and do most of the time. However I have a homemade set of tongs that I carry around providing I don't have to climb down into a canyon and I always carry a rope. The tongs are very nice to use, it is my preferred option. The rope is only there for safety purposes in case I catch myself and the tongs are out of reach, which hasn't happened yet.
