JUNEAU -- Despite concerns from local officials, the House overwhelmingly passed legislation that would bar cities and boroughs from going any further than the state in restricting firearms.
In Anchorage, for example, it would mean state law allowing unloaded firearms in bars would overrule municipal code banning any guns where liquor is served, said Rep. Les Gara, D-Anchorage, one of only four House members who voted against the bill Tuesday.
