In less than 10 days, the 500 S&W will be in Alaska...

A few of you might remember that I have been playing around with a loaned 500 S&W off and on over the last couple of months.

Again, I have been so impressed by this handgun's accuracy and tolerance of all types of projectiles.

So when I was asked "hey, do you want to use the 500 S&W when you goto Alaska?"...  

I jumped at the chance to use the big boomer on the monster bears of Alaska's Prince of Wales Island.



What will make it fun, other than stalking 500-800 Black Bears on the beaches of Prince of Wales, is that it will be a filmed hunt.

Anyway, I can't wait to hear the TTHHHHWAAAAAPPPPP that the 440 grain hard cast is going to make!

I am going to use my 500 MAG on a Black Bear hunt also. But I am going to Maine in October. Good luck and let us know how you do.  :D

Wilton is a few hours north from me. I'm just west of Portland right now soon hopefully moving to Auburn.

No I don't I honestly don't have much time to between work and all. I'm still young trying to build up stability if you know what I mean. All I really have time for is deerseason and woodchucks and the ocasional coyote if seen. I try to keep track as far as state records go. largest black bear shot in maine was 658 lbs. if my memory serves me correct. BUt no I've never had the chance to go specifically out for bear.
