Actually it will, but you must stick your finger down under the locking table and push the safety block slightly to the rear.

thanks for the replys.

his is my first encore and I was only able to look at it for a few minutes while the FFL holder got the paperwork together.

I will be going over it very well once it is in my hands.

Dry firing

I would recomment that you never dry fire an Encore or a G2. The firing pin will break. It may last for a few times or a hundred but it will break. You should order a least one or two spare firing pins from TC. They are easy to change out but the pistol is useless without it.
Maybe I just had a bad pin, but it broke after a half dozen dry fires. The other way to go would be to get or make a snap cap for your barrel.
Good luck and think about getting a trigger job. The Encore trigger can be taken down to about 24oz safely.
