Clone ammo question
« on: April 22, 2005, 04:39:01 AM »
Hey y'all, I'm new to this forum, but not GB. Here's my question. A friend of mine gave me some 45 LC ammo. It's from Georgia Arms, new ammo, 200 grain and 225 grain bullets. I've never shot this brand, because I was told it was too hot for clones. Thier website only lists the 200 grain load and it says 1100 fps. Do y'all think this stuff is too hot for a uberti regulator, with a 1/2" barrel. I've never shot smokeless in it before. Thanks for any help you can give.

If in doubt, contact Georgia Arms.  Personally, I think a 200 grain bullet at 1100 f/s is right around where it should be, loaded to within SAAMI specs.  Your 1/2" barrel isn't an issue with whether the pistol can handle the pressure, but does come into play when talking about recoil on the shooters end
