I find the max superior with big long heavy cast bullets, I have used 180 grain RCBS sillywet bullets and find them accurate, but not the fastest bullet out of my barrels-seems to build pressure much faster than my RCBS and Lyman 200 grain bullets...but they have less bullet in the case and more outside so that probably explains the difference.
I have also shot 245 grain mountain moulds bullets and they are extremely accurate, but you need to resight your gun for them because they don't hit anywhere near the 180s or 200s. I recommend that you use RX7 or 4198 for the 200 plus bullets, though I have to tell you, I have had really good luck with slower loads using AA#9, very slow, but extremely accurate.
I like the max with the 245 bullet, it is sort of like a miniature 45-70 or 38-55 out of the Max for target work, but I'd probably recommend the 200 grain bullet for hunting, faster, flatter and plenty of penetration.
good luck,
