you can also shoot 45 Schofield rounds out of it.
One thing to remember is to always clean the chamber very very well after shooting a shorter round. It can and will leave a build-up just ahead of the short round and stop a 454 case from chambering. Also watch for a flame cutting.
I have a 357 mag that has a ring etched out just ahead of the place the 38 special rounds sit. this has no effect on accuracy but case life is shorter and may be worse at the higher pressure the 454 runs at.
