Period scopes
« on: April 30, 2005, 08:13:00 AM »
Gentlemen:
Please advise me. I've recently acquired an NEF 38/55 Target Model rifle. The sighting arrangement could use a little help. Some options are available for iron or peep sights, but a scope would be great. The choices available are either far too expensive or not quite up to modern standards, or both.
Recently I discovered a "period" style scope available on this website:
               http://www.leatherwoodoptics.com/
Have any of you had any experience with this company, or this model scope? While a bit pricy, it would sure look right on my rifle, and the features seem good. Some of the iron sight arrangements are in the same price range anyhow. This setup would be used almost exclusively for target work.
I'd like to find out something about this company and this scope before I proceed. Boy, would this be the thing for a big bore muzzleloading slug gun!                                              Woodbutcher

Woodbutcher, the price of $495 is not bad compared to MVA or R.H.O. INSTRUMENTS. http://www.lautard.com/RHO/.
