Every custom barrel maker I have talked to has told me the .257 Weatherby Mag is not a candidate for Encore chamberings. I have been dying to get the ,257 Weatherby Mag for my Encore BUT I will listen to the experts and pass on it. Bullberry will chamber the .240 weatherby Mag, So maybe I will look into that?

not to butt into the conversation,but a friend of mine has a barrel in .257 weatherby. it was done by ssk inductries if memory serves right. hope this helps.

You are not "butting in"...........I have heard of a few .257 Weatherby Mag Encore barrels but have hit a wall everytime I ask a barrel maker about them. After getting so many refusals I began to question the safety myself. God forbid that pressure caused the breech to blow open..........
