22 Mag Ammo
« on: February 20, 2003, 11:35:38 PM »
I see Remington has a 40 grain pointed soft point they list at 1910 FPS. I think is was a high speed or premium type of thing. Has anyone tried these? I can't find them on the shelf anywhere so Im wondering if they're new or something. My new 9422M winnie groups better than twice as tight with the Win Supreme 34 grain HP  as it does with any other standard grade ammo including the win superX. Would like to know what others have found out in their 22 mags. Remington is the only stuff I have't tried, but heard bad things about them from the 22LR shooters.

I do not know about the 40 grain stuff but I have tried the Remington Vmax stuff which I think is 30 grains and it shoots great in my Henry 22 mag lever but it is also very pricey at almost 12 bucks a box. I also had some misfires with it which at that price is not good. Remington seems to have primer problems as I have used their standard LR yellow coated bullet ammo in the past and had misfires also. Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
